About Me

Hi,

My name is Darrell Chau and welcome to my site!

As a Chartered Accountant (CA) and an experienced senior Project Manager (PM), I created my consultancy company back in 2014 which provided services to various industries – Finance (Retail Banking, Investment Banking and Insurance), Pharmaceutical and Technology (mobile software).

Throughout my career, I always looked to learn and apply myself to different topics, businesses and activities, and I wanted to use my PM and organisational skills in different areas. So I started to do that on the personal front in very practical ways.

For instance, I tried building something with my hands to see if my professional PM organisation skills and the ability to break down a problem/scenario into its component parts, would allow me to apply it to a practical situation.

So I started by building a twin compost bin out of pallets:

I then tried my hand at building a BBQ out of the sandstone walls demolished from our renovation.  Moving large sandstone blocks was a challenge in itself but then I had to learn how to build a mould and pour a concrete reinforced slab!

Then I progressed to building a wood store out of pallets and a few old discarded floorboards.  This one was interesting and I went back to high school trigonometry to work out the angles to cut the vertical struts to achieve the desired slope of the roof – remember sine, cosine and tan – wow, an actual practical application of high school maths! If you are looking for bracelet. There’s something to suit every look, from body-hugging to structured, from cuffs to chain chain bracelet and cuffs.

During a particularly restless winter, I got the itch to do another small project in preparation for summer so built this picnic table for the kids based on YouTube video ideas.

Then I tried my hand at building a raised deck to see if I could build something level and square!  The accountant and project manager in me revelled in trying to learn how to do this and break down each stage and get everything precise!

Then I tackled a part of the backyard that was cleared from decades of overgrowing ivy and shrubs. No idea what to do with it so I decided to build a tree house for the kids.

After 4 months of sketching and designing the main elements in Google Sketchup, it became a tree-house-pirate-ship!  But how was I going to build it?  I decided to do what any PM would have done and I broke it down into 3 parallel phases – design, materials sourcing and build. After 6 months of evenings and weekends, this was the result.

That was a few years ago and now with all the DIY-build phase of my life behind me, I wanted to try something completely different and decided to resurrect my dormant consultancy website and make something of it.

The area of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has always fascinated me and with the advances of the last couple of years, I wanted to explore how we could possibly apply AI to practical areas of everyday life.

So from March 2023, I created this website and started to write all I have learnt about AI and the fascinating ways people have used AI in different aspects of their lives including increasing productivity, idea generation, content creation and writing, image and video generation and lots more.

This very website is my own experience. You can follow as I delve into such topics, experiment with it and apply it to help enhance existing skills and learn new skills. Some of these AI apps covered are the very tools I use to build this website.

I really do believe that AI is here to assist us rather than replace us, but of course, that is all up to us and how we apply it!

I hope this website gives you some ideas of your own to help you in your everyday life!
